(Book of Common Prayer. p. 983)
Psalms 41, 52 (morning)       44 (evening)
Job 32:1-1-, 19-33:1, 19-29
Acts 13:44-52
John 10:19-30

A Collect for Labor Day (p. 261)
Almighty God, you have so linked our lives one with another that all we do affects, for good or ill, all other lives:  So guide us in the work we do, that we may do it not for self alone, but for the common Good; and, as we seek a proper return for our own labor, make us mindful of the rightful aspirations of other workers, and arouse our concern for those who are out of work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, on God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

For the Unemployed (p. 834)
Heavenly Father, we remember before you those who suffer want and anxiety from lack of work.  Guide the people of this land so to use our public and private wealth that all may find suitable and fulfilling employment, and receive just payment for their labor; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

O God, your unfailing providence sustains the world we live in and the life we live. Watch over those, both night and day, who work while others sleep, and grant that we may never forget that our common life depends upon each other's toil; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fantastic prayers from a very fine prayerbook. Peace, Janet

O, O, Obama, Our mighty presiding collector of taxes and redistributor in the land of D.C. I think you, in your mighty busy schedule of vacations and stumping, have forgotten me. I continue to be without work as I won't do the work that illegals will do. Please see fit to send me a small distribution, or invite me to your next vacations with you next week.
I also give you thanks for making my health insurance more expensive, I really needed that. But you must have known that because it is Obamacare.
